Another phase..

Ian has entered a stage where he cannot go to sleep.
for the past couple of days its been impossible for him. He WANTS to, he yawn, rub his eyes, nod off in your arms, but 30 min later. BAM eyes wide awake.

I tried feeding, rocking, CAR RIDE, everything that normally worked, but to no avail. he isn't crying, or hungry, he just sits there and moves his hands and feet, and opens his eyes wide to stare at you.

currently he has been up since 330am, and not one bit of sleep. its now 130pm...that meas i also go with only 30min-1hr of sleep at a time....

so my fellow mothers...come across this problem? ideas/suggestions or insight?

GRATEFULLLLLLLLLL

Avi was like that. Still is. Just when we think he's getting into a good sleep pattern, he gets all screwed up and goes through a phase where he fights it.

the solution I found was coffee.

but seriously, if you have cash, you can pay a sleep expert (don't remember the name) someone that specializes in getting babies to develop good sleep habits. I know someone (not well) that did it, and she said it was a life saver.

In my experience (and not everyone's) I just waited it out. But I can sympathize with you.

Sorry if this wasn't super helpful (cause it really wasn't). We just had nights where kosta would play his xbox, and push avi back and forth in his stroller. Eventually he would fall asleep. We ended up buying a nice recliner (of course after the whole thing) and that would have been helpful, cause Avi really just liked being held, and that would have been perfact to sleep in. Oh well. next kid. lol

I really have NO advice. I went insane during the same phase, and tried every damn trick and technique people offered me. None worked... and I just dealt with it until it was over. Oh man, I wish, WISH, I could give you the "secret" fix... but I never found it myself :(

I do feel your pain though :/

Nice! We had one for Danté, but he didn't take to his as well as I hear most babies do. He was too curious and rambunctious and always wanted out of it. He DID sleep in it here and there though, which gave me 5-10 minutes of peace now and then, lol. Hope you're a lucky mommy, and Ian keeps liking it :)

Russelle loved her swing.  She has never been a good sleeper, but my best bet during that phase was the swing.  We had the fisherprice one that swung both ways and the cradle motion seemed to help the most.

There isn't much help I can offer here either as I never found the secret of getting her to sleep.  Just know that we've all been there.  I hope the swing works well for you.
